Of course! We'll work closely with your HR team or hiring managers to design a program for your company, including sourcing, vetting/assessment, applying subsidies, and managing payroll/tax services.

Internships are fully customizable, with duration configured based on project requirements. While most internships typically last 8-12 weeks, some have been shorter for task-based projects, and others have been extended beyond six months.

Some of our interns have requirements or restrictions regarding how and when they can work. For example, students from UC Berkeley cannot work more than 20 hours per week to qualify for Work-Study funding.

Make sure to ask each intern at the beginning of your interviews if they have any restrictions or requirements from their program. Reach out to support@folioworks.com if you have questions or concerns about any requirements/restrictions in interviews - we might be able to help!

If Folio is the Employer of Record (EOR) for your interns, we'll handle all wage payments, provide you with timesheets every two weeks, and bill your payment method on file for your portion of wages. If you would like to remain as the EOR, you'll pay interns normally and we'll handle the wage subsidy reimbursements in the background.

Interns are subsidized either for the duration of their internship, or until the subsidy reaches its maximum disbursement. We'll keep track of this for you on your dashboard so you know when you're approaching that limit.

You're more than welcome to end the internship, continue working with your intern at full wage, or extend a full-time offer. If Folio is the EOR, let us know before the internship ends so we can help you handle next steps.

Yes. We partner with companies globally, and our services are available to all organizations regardless of their location. While our interns and wage subsidies often come from U.S. government programs, these resources can still benefit companies anywhere in the world.

For most subsidized programs, you must pay at least minimum wage; some programs require a slightly higher minimum wage in order to take advantage of the subsidy. We'll let you know what requirements are for each program.

Of course! We help companies with established internship programs uncover and utilize existing subsidies. We'll ingest your internship class, review intern and employer eligibility, and fill out your subsidy Common Application to help you and your interns instantly apply to hundreds of subsidy programs around the country.

Folio offers letters that satisfy CPT/OPT requirements. Once you are accepted into a Venture Cohort, we will reach out with further details regarding your particular CPT/OPT letter. Folio.works is e-verified, and we are willing to help you with any forms your specific school might require to process your CPT/OPT status.

While we can provide you with several options for your internship, we cannot assure you that you will receive a full-time offer. That will have to be a discussion you have with the hiring manager before the internship starts, ongoing during your project, and afterward.

We recommend 10-20 hours/week as an active student. If you are not enrolled, enrolled part-time, or an international student with VISA limitations, we will guide you and your host company.

We recommend against it, as past experience has taught us that students who take on multiple internships generally struggle to keep up with the demands of each internship.

Yes! College students can work with their university department to earn college credit for their internship. We do not have the resources to facilitate this for you, but we highly recommend you reach out to our department advisor to ask for credit.
